Well I've bought my ticket to spend 5 months in south america. I will be spending time in hostels, backpacking, and possibly living in as little as a tent at some points. I'm super-excited, but I'm wondering if anyone has good advice about how to take care of my moonflow. I currently use the keeper menstrual cup, but the only drawback is that I sometimes need to wash my hands after emptying it, and I hear that many latrines there don't have sinks. I also hear that tampons are hard to come by. what worked best for you ladies? as anyone used the keeper or another menstrual cup in a third-world country? all comments welcome!

Re: ladies: moontime in south america
Wed, January 9, 2008 - 1:33 PMDefinitely pack some tampons if you'll be off the beaten path. Outside the main cities you'll be lucky to find any...depending on where you go, of course. Happy travels! -

Re: ladies: moontime in south america
Thu, January 31, 2008 - 6:47 PMWell, I'm back from South America and in retrospect, using the Keeper alone was just fine. Wet wipes took care of the hand-sanitizing needs, and there were more sinks available than expected. Thanks everyone for the info!
