The Truck AirBedz is an inflatable air mattress with a rechargeable, flush-mounted air pump that fits around and over the wheelwells of your truck or SUV. Nomad to me is taking only what you need:
shoes, backpack, sleeping sack, and my wits. -

Thu, May 8, 2008 - 11:58 AMDo you need all of this? No.... it's all luxury... But it is cool that people are making products for nomads. :) -

Fri, May 9, 2008 - 3:36 PMIt's cool if youuuuu wanna carry it, LOL.
No man alive wants to carry all that junk (if you cared enough to ask).
But ya, gadgets are cool, just not if you bring them all at the same time...

Re: Nomad Gear
Sun, June 29, 2008 - 1:09 PMIt doesn't matter to me whether I *need* the stuff I have or not. It matters whether I'm attached to it or not. So long as any single material object can be smilingly gifted to the next person who admires it, I'm traveling light.
I gear up, then I gift it all and give my back a holiday. Gradually stuff starts finding me again, but so long as I can keep it flowing through me rather than accumulating it, I can stay balanced. And if I have any single item that I haven't used in a week, I show no mercy but immediately lose it.
Okay, well that's how I'm trying to live, anyway. -

Re: Nomad Gear
Sun, July 27, 2008 - 4:11 PMI think the "thought" of gifting is great and hits a warm spot. However, personally, I don't think I'd "gear-up" with the intent of gifting or possibly using it as a reason to buy that nifty gadget. The very best gift you can give is yourself--your witty conversation and warm personaliy. Your personal welcome of hospitality--that open door to your "self." That is true sharing. Sure, we all accumulate "things" during our travels, and their is nothing wrong with gifting them to someone else, but true gifting is of the "self." Just what that means is different for everyone, I'm sure.
Many thanks to all the drum beaters, guitar strummers, dancers, jokers, big fish tale story tellers who ever crossed my path and shared a bit of "themselves" with me.
